Series Parallel Wiring

Rope light products in all their various types, whether round, rectangular, LED or incandescent, are wired in series parallel. This means that several individual lamps or LEDs are wired together to equal 12V, 24V or 120V. Then the individual series are wired together to light up in unison. However, the small wires and solder joints that interconnect the individual lamps or LEDs, and the resistors in the case of LED, can be damaged by flexing, impact, high ambient temperatures, among other things.

If one wire, solder joint or resistor fails or breaks, a whole section will not light. Due to the number of elements involved, and the numerous extenuating circumstances beyond our control, American Lighting offers a "standard linear warranty" on most linear lighting products. The conditional warranty offers replacement product by section due to defective material and/or workmanship for the warranty period specified within each linear product category.
