Housing Single-piece PVC tube allows easy installation
and
water to run through when installed on drainage material
(gravel to be supplied by installer). Straight cut end
allows flush ground mounting, and an accessory lens
guard (IL3H) or rock guard (IG3H or IG30H) may be ordered
separately, but is not required. Angled cut end requires
the top three inches installed above ground for maximum
vertical spot aiming with shielding being provided on
three sides.
Lamp Holder (Patented) Durable silicone rubber
lamp holder has integral fins to allow the height and
angle of the lamp to be adjusted without any mechanical
moving parts. Fixture
offers 360° lamp rotation and up to 45° off
vertical aiming adjustability, restricted only by the
cut-off of the housing.
finish Black silicone lampholder with black PVC
sleeve.
Lens Optional lens available, see below.
Socket Double screw terminal.
Wiring 4-ft. of 18-2 low voltage cable with a
low voltage quick
connector on one end for easy energizing to the low
voltage
supply cable. Two spade connectors are provided on the
other
end for easy lamp installation. One foot of the 18-2
cable should be left as slack inside the PVC housing
to allow easy lamp adjustment or removal.

The following are basic steps
in installing inground fixtures into soil.
For detailed instructions, refer to the installation
sheet enclosed with each fixture.
1. Excavate soil for fixture placement
and conduit runs. Allow a minimum of 3"
around and under housing for drainage material.
2. Remove the screws from the glass/gasket
assembly and wiring compartment cover. Connect
conduit fittings to housing conduit entries
utilizing a thread sealant, and tighten
to 40 ft-lbs. max. DO NOT REMOVE the moisture
absorbing desi-pak from inside the fixture.
3. Connect 120V leads in wiring compartment
to supply wires. Make ground connection.
The contractor must pull ground wire or
make a ground connection to the metal conduit
system.
4. Conduit entries must be potted to prevent
water entry (3M 4442 GELA supplied with
I3 and I4). Replace the wiring compartment
cover.
5. Install the ballast tray. Plug lamping
module into quick connect, if applicable.
6. Install the correct lamp. DO NOT EXCEED
the maximum wattage marked on the fixture.
7. Clean gasket seating surfaces. Screw
holes can be blown clear or cleared with
a #10-24 tap. Insert screws through lid
and tighten using an alternating torque
sequence to 20 (min.) 30 (max.) inch-lbs.
8. Fixture housing should be surrounded
by a 3" (minimum) layer of sand or
gravel to ensure drainage. Materials such
as vermiculite and bark are for ground cover
only. Full depths of these may cause overheating.
In concrete pour cases, the housing is placed
on a 4" (minimum) bed of gravel, with
soil below. Do not install fixtures where
water collects arid stands for any length
of time.
